Beyond writing, directing, and producing films, I write short stories, novels, and bad poetry. My focus is on stories that draw upon my medical and military background. I've spent over a decade working as a paramedic. Before that, I was an infantryman and combat medic in the U.S. Army.

I have an undergraduate degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of Iowa. I'll be graduating with an MFA in Film and Television Directing from Columbia College Chicago in December.
